Born and raised in New-York, Michael Halpern graduated from Central St. Martin’s. He debuted his namesake brand, Halpern, as a part of his graduate fashion show. There, his work caught the eye of fashion critic Sarah Mower, which led to a stint working as a consultant at Atelier Versace. He made sequins the front and center of his collections. His style, in his own words: “I always reference over-the-top glamour and juxtapose that with classic bustiers and draping that recalls Charles James, Lacroix, Christian Dior”.
