Montserrat Alvarez created Heimat Atlantica with the aim of transforming and preserving specific know-hows from the Atlantic coast. She’s inspired by Caribbean traditions and art forms, such as magical realism.

The Spanish born and Paris based designer created her first bag for her personal use before her acquaintances pushed her to pursue something bigger with her artistic drive. The Heist Bag is the first of the projects; it is a collage made of porcelain, hand-woven reed and handcrafted leather.
