In 2008, former Art Director of advertising powerhouses Saatchi & Saatchi and Young & Rubicam Juan Carlos Obando founded his namesake womenswear and accessories brand in Los Angeles. The Colombian designer’s modern and minimal approach to evening wear garnered A-list celebrity approval and he was awarded runner up at the 10th annual CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund.
Obando’s collections are known for their bias-cut silhouettes, fluid movements and draped silks. His artistic eye is drawn to more romantic styles that combine bold colors with simple yet expressive shapes.
