Consumerism Ashore is a series of locally sourced, hand-painted seashells that began in April 2020 as a creative pastime during the latter weeks of quarantine. What started as a hobby quickly evolved into a formal body of work commenting on the dichotomy of materiality _ coloring natural seashells with synthetic, acrylic paint _ as well as the significance of branding, mainstream iconography, found objects, and appropriation in the canon of 20th century art history.
