Chitose Abe left her job as a pattern maker under Junya Watanabe at one of Japan’s most storied fashion labels, Comme des Garcons. launch her own brand, Sacai in June of 1999. Chitose’s covetable technical skills are the lifeblood of the brand, as it allows her fresh and experimental style to reign free. Chitose creates innovative fabric combinations and creative pattern techniques that put a fresh spin on everyday styles. A Sacai jacket can be split down the middle creating a jacket of two different styles, or a mix of patterns can create a more subtle mix and match.
Sacai’s signature look is both sporty and edgy with a three-dimensional effect, which is why the eccentric silhouettes remain a go-to for both men and women.
